Isopropyl alcohol, an organic\u00a0polar molecule, is\u00a0miscible\u00a0in\u00a0water,\u00a0ethanol, and\u00a0chloroform, demonstrating its ability to dissolve a wide range of substances including\u00a0ethyl cellulose,\u00a0polyvinyl butyral, oils,\u00a0alkaloids, and natural\u00a0resins. Notably, it is not\u00a0miscible\u00a0with salt solutions and can be separated by adding\u00a0sodium chloride\u00a0in a process known as\u00a0salting out. It forms an\u00a0azeotrope\u00a0with water, resulting in a\u00a0boiling point\u00a0of 80.37\u00b0C and is characterized by its slightly bitter taste. Isopropyl alcohol becomes\u00a0viscous\u00a0at lower temperatures, freezing at \u221289.5\u00b0C, and has significant\u00a0ultraviolet-visible absorbance at 205nm.
